Spoiler alert: She said yes!
Our featured couple came all the way from Canada for a long 2-week trip to Japan, with a few days scheduled for Okinawa. When the groom-to-be reached out to us to ask us for help to plan a surprise proposal, we were so excited! Of course, we said yes immediately ♡
He booked our no-frills Surprise Proposal Photography session, and requested that we pretend to have a picnic to blend in the background. We packed a picnic mat and some snacks, and enjoyed the beach while waiting for our couple. We had also coordinated some details with him weeks before the shoot, like where we’d be having our “picnic” and where they’d come in from the parking lot, and we were so excited!
Right on time! Here they are! But wait — Mr. Groom-to-be!!! There’s a strange blue thing between both of you!!! Please move a little more towards the water!!
Oh no! He moved in the opposite direction! And now we can’t move either, or else we’ll miss the moment!
Oh we love seeing couples in love ♡ This couple were so enamored with each other, they were completely unfazed by the unknown blue thing next to them and the 3 random strangers having a “picnic” on the beach at 1 in the afternoon.
But of course, after the actual proposal, we popped up to say “Congratulations!!!” and introduce ourselves as the studio Mr. Groom-to-be had hired to capture the moment, and from there, their engagement shoot started ♡
And because it’s an engagement shoot, we did a more posed version of the engagement, complete with ring shots.
It was a beautiful sunny day, but also because it was so bright and sunny, it was really hot for our two Canadians, so dipping their feet in the sea was just perfect ❤︎
Our bride-to-be was completely surprised and so over the moon with her now-fiance, the proposal, and the ring! It was so lovely to be able to capture their special moment and be able to shoot their engagement photos as well~
One last shot of our groom-to-be, totally thrilled with the success of his surprise proposal!
Thank you W & S for choosing us at Ryukyu Wedding! We hope to see you again for your wedding and anniversary photos someday~ ★
