A great, big thank you to everyone who came by to our little Christmas photobooth at Comic Con 2023! It was our very first event on base, and we were so thrilled by everyone’s warmth towards us!
If you said hi to a girl in a wedding dress on Saturday, or reindeer antlers on Sunday, that was me!
I’m Zarifah, Ryukyu Entertainment’s graphic designer and translator, and I also just happen to be a military spouse too. 🥰 For me personally, working an event on base felt like a super cool mashup of both worlds!
When we decided to join Comic Con as a vendor, we knew we wanted to do a photobooth, and since Comic Con was going to be in December, we felt that a Christmas photobooth would be best!
Making our photobooth from scratch wasn’t the easiest task, and we also had to take a ton of sample shots! Since professional models don’t come cheap, our very first models for our photobooth were none other than our own puppies!
But of course, puppies a fraction of the size of a standard human being, so we had to do the modeling as well! It was personally kind of embrassing to be on the other side of the camera for once, but we had a great time!
The days before Comic Con, we finally moved our entire photobooth over to Camp Foster’s Fieldhouse to set up!
Finally, it was time to open up for Comic Con! Being lovers of anime and games ourselves, we were so excited to meet and take photos of cosplayers, and especially cosplay families!
Of course, we welcomed a ton of non-cosplay clients as well! We had wedding dresses and suits for everyone to try on as well, but it seemed that most people were kind of shy 🥲

We had lots of families stop by too! We loved loved taking photos of the little ones!
One of my personal favorite cosplay families stepped right out of my current favorite game: Baldur’s Gate 3! I was so excited to see them and was so happy when they decided to take pictures with us!
